Why do some people have HOPE and others don't?

I have noted that phenomenon often. I love the definition I heard for hope once, "Hope is God's however". When hard things happen, God will always follow with, a however...I can help you get through it and even help you see life good again. I do like that and has been my experience often.

Would it be that people's life experiences, good or challenging, directly measure ones amount of hope? I don't know, there seem to be "well off people" pretty hopeless and destitute others very hopeful. How does one grow in hope?

Let us know what you think:) Peace out and peace within, your Sis' Becky

Some people have a sad outlook on life I think. They've been wounded and hurt and its hard to just suck it up and get on with life. That's where the great Saints have a lot to teach us. Looking at what they experienced and how they persevered with courage and even joy in the midst of persecution and frustration is a great help. We all need that, now matter how joyful we look on the outside.

One way of understanding hope is as courage and another way is perseverence. Which way is more meaningful to you? We need hope when we are afraid and we need hope when we are suffering. If you are neither afraid nor suffering in this moment, then hope may not be what you are needing. But you can pray for those who do and help by sharing stories of how hope has helped you overcome fear and suffering in your own life.
